Bibliothèque Anglophone, Angers

Une superbe bibliothèque avec des livres en anglais et un personnel très accueillant et génial. Propose pleins d'activités pour les gens désirant pratiquer leur anglais ou tout simplement apprendre à parler anglais. Un super lieu pour rencontrer des personnes parlant l'anglais

La première fois que j'y suis allé il y a quelques années, j'ai été reçu comme un chien dans un jeu de quilles. En lisant le Courrier de l'Ouest vendredi, je découvre qu'ils ont un stand au jardin du Mail ces vendredi, samedi et dimanche des Accroche-coeur. Je prends la peine de leur téléphoner vers 11h00 pour me faire confirmer quand je peux aller les rencontrer. Réponse : cet après-midi à partir de 14h00. J'arrive à 16h00 et je me touve bloqué. Ça n'ouvre qu'à 18h30 ! Une personne m'invite à revenir et me précise qu'ils seront présents aussi lundi jusque 16h00. J'arrive à 15h15, tout est déjà démonté sous prétexte qu'ils ont tout vendu ! Intérêt pour d'éventuels nouveaux adhérents : strictement aucun ! Pourtant sur site, ils quemandent de l'argent pour leurs actions. Dander du fric sans s'intéresser à leurs éventuels financeurs, cest indécent !

Avis ENTIEREMENT différent..... Un endroit accueillant et chaleureux, personnel toujours à l'écoute et près à aider. Des livres de grande diversité et qualité (33.000), fictions, histoire, TOEIC, littérature, enfants... Des bénévoles fortement impliqués dans le succès de cette association (qui n'est pas une école, donc normal qu'il n'y ait pas de profs.) Des rencontre interculturelles incroyables, un bon moyen d'améliorer son niveau d'anglais dans une bonne atmosphère! :)

This is one of the best public libraries I have visited in Angers since my arrival in 2020. I observed the library to be full of so many interesting English books, the reception was excellent and the internal arrangement was adorable. Indeed its the "best place to be" during your free time

Very nice staff with lots of activities for adults and children. There is a big range of books. Every 9am Friday morning (except holidays), there is a get together(called Coffee House) to chat(only in English) about whatever with the members of the library and anyone else that drops in. There is often a guest that comes to speak to the group (film makers, writers etc). A great place to go if you want to read and speaker better English. Frequented by lots of English speakers as well.

One of the first things I did after moving to Angers was join the English-language Library. It is a lovely, welcoming space with a kind, friendly staff, a large collection of books, and a bunch of programming for people of all ages and interests--there are book and film clubs, luncheons, tea and coffee hours, book sales, and parties throughout the year not to mention conversation groups and English language tutoring. It is the perfect spot for Anglophones or Anglophiles in Angers as well as anyone who is seeking to connect with a big, vibrant community of book lovers.
